POOL: Knockout Cup success for McNulty's A

McNULTY'S A retained the Clement Dealey Photography Knockout Cup with a win over league rivals Sperrin A.

After McNultys knocked out the other main contenders, Forge A, in the first round it looked likely that these two would contest the final.

Both had comfortable semi finals, with McNulty's beating Montra 5-0 and Sperrin overcoming Railway Arms 5-1.

Davy Tosh got McNulty's off to a great start in the final as he beat Paul O'Connor in the first singles match, before teaming up with Andy Park to defeat Tommy Morrow and Lee Caulfield in doubles.

Morrow got Sperrin back in the match with a comfortable victory over Mark Hutchinson but Jimmy Moore reinstated the two game lead as he beat Gavin Patton.

The pair met again in the next doubles but Gavin, partnered by Morrow this time, got the win.

The match was level as Billy Moore had a comfortable win over Andy Park, setting up a great finale.

McNulty's captain Adrian O'Kane turned back the years with a super performance against Lee Caulfield, before Tosh got his third win of the match, as he and Damien Reid won the last doubles match to seal another cup win for McNulty's.

The Forge A beat Forge B in the final of the Plate competition in a very sporting contest.
