With the Euro 2012 football competition upon us, many young people will surely be glued to the television sets eagerly awaiting the next exciting match.
But why just watch football when you can play the game yourself, and receive expert tuition under the watchful eye of Coach Gary Fowler?
If you want to learn the skills required to dazzle your mates on the pitch and are aged between 8 and 11 years of age, then go along and join the members of Porstewart Young Vision-Youth Club at The Warren, in Portstewart. The three week course begins at 6:30 pm on Wednesday June 13.
Football is not the only sport currently capturing the attention of Portstewart’s young people. Tennis has become a firm favourite as well.
And, while the Youth Club may not be able to offer Strawberries and cream, or guarantee an appearance on Wimbledon’s famous Centre Court, they will be offering coaching sessions to young enthusiasts’ during the month of June.
To be the best at any sport requires patience, practice, determination, sportsmanship and self- discipline, and while individual skills are a valuable asset to possess; all team sports require team players.
