Pre-season training for Coleraine RFC’s Youth section has begun with a call from the club for newcomers between the ages of 11-19 to come along on Monday and Wednesday nights (7pm – 8.30 pm) and TRYRugby@Coleraine.

Club Community Development Officer and Youth Coach Co-Ordinator Daniel McAuley is encouraging kids to come along and give it a go.

He said: “It doesn’t matter what experience you have, we have qualified Coaches for all age groups ready to develop young people in this amazing sport. As Coaches we are always excited at the prospect of training up young people who could be the next Andrew Trimble or Brian O’Driscoll. We had a great season last year with all four squads (U13s, U15s, U17s & U19s all doing well with 15s and 17s each reaching the finals of their prospective leagues.

“We are looking forward to another great season and we are always looking to welcome more young men to Rugby Avenue. Simply come along on Monday or Wednesday night with boots and a gum shield (available at all Sports Stores) and give it a go.”
