The Anchorage Inn has been recognised at the Northern Ireland Tourism Awards at a glittering gala ceremony at Belfast’s Ulster Hall.

The awards, now in their 36th year, recognise the very best of the local industry and are regarded as the high point of the annual tourism calendar.

The Anchorage Inn was awarded a Commended Certificate for Serviced Accommodation of the Year.

Organised by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board in partnership with Diageo Northern Ireland, this year the awards spanned nine different categories and three special awards.

NITB Chairman Howard Hastings said: “Clearly our industry has been going through a transformational period, one which has seen a seismic shift in how our destination is perceived around the globe. Over the past few years Northern Ireland has achieved a massive amount and tonight is about celebrating the best practice, the innovation and the creativity that has helped put us there.”
