It's back! Truck Fest 2016

It's the event that took everyone by surprise and it's back again bigger and better!

The now annual Truck Fest takes place at the NW200 Paddock outside Portstewart on Sunday 21st August and already the organisers are swamped with participants.

Well over one hundred trucks turned up last year and this year that number is already at an astonishing 300.

Chris Arthur, who is the Event Manager, enthused “We’re enjoying tremendous support from this country’s finest Trucks and Commercials which, in turn, has prompted a lot of interest from new sponsors who are the lifeblood of the event.

“It’s great to have so much co-operation from Causeway Coast and Glens Council as well as the local business community including Sandy Arthur Training Services, CP Hire, Burnside Recovery, Alan Miller Waste Management, Oliver Transport and The Anchor Complex.”

To complement activities on the day there’s also a great line-up of entertainment hosted by Brian Moore and featuring singers Darren Keiron, Nial Mac, Sara Crockett, Kat’s Country and headlined by the inimitable Ritchie Remo.

The kids aren’t left out either with Bouncy Castles and Face Painting and we mustn’t forget to mention a bigger and more extensive Trade and Food Village for all.

Admission to the Truck Fest is free although with the RNLI as the benefiting charity donations will be sought and with that in mind the Portrush Lifeboat will be in the bay (unless they get a call-out) and will fire off a flare to announce the departure of the Trucks from the paddock as the event finishes with all three hundred of them doing a lap of the NW200 circuit.
