Take a peak at stunning '˜Hidden In View'

February at Flowerfield Arts Centre will see an exhibition of stunning new drawings and paintings by acclaimed local artists Raymond Kennedy and Gavin Hutchinson in the Main Gallery.

The show features work based on the theme of the mundane scenes we pass every day which become so familiar to us that eventually they become “Hidden In View”.

The collection of work is not the usual gathering of pictures of well-known local landmarks or iconic postcard scenes, instead here are those everyday invisible places which the artists tell us are worth a second glance.

The drawings and paintings are derived from work the artists have carried out over the past three years.

Both artists share a parallel interest in these overlooked scenes and often ignored places within the landscape of the local region and using this as the starting points for their work they have taken a new fresh look at these views which lie on the edge of our daily visual experience, the periphery of vision.

Raymond and Gavin both live and work in the North Antrim nad Londonderry areas and both completed their fine art training at colleges in Liverpool, Belfast and London.

They are well known locally as teachers in art education courses at secondary level and for their input across a wide range of art and design-related courses at further and higher level.
