Vinny and Nicola head for Portrush

BBC Radio Ulster's Stephen Nolan Show regulars Vinny Hurrell and Nicola Weir have been out on the road across Northern Ireland over the past few weeks.

The intrepid duo, part of the Nolan radio team, have been meeting up with local people who have something to say, recording them talking about issues both large and small and which matter to them and their community.

The pair continue their road trip in Portrush on Thursday (June 9) and will be outside Barrys from 1pm and would welcome members of the public to call down and see them.

Listeners can then tune in to the daily radio programme on BBC Radio Ulster over the coming weeks to hear the pre-recorded interviews gathered from Vinny and Nicola’s road trip.

Nicola, a former Coleraine Times journalist, says: Nicola said: “I’m looking forward to getting Vinny in my vehicle and taking him out of the studio and into the countryside, where I’ve no doubt we’ll speak to some amazing people, hear some brilliant stories outside the city limits! After two years of bringing listeners’ stories to air on the Stephen Nolan Show on BBC Radio Ulster, I’m looking forward to taking the ‘biggest show in the country’ into the country and finding out what they want to talk about. Vinny just needs to realise I’m the one in the driving seat!”
