TO CELEBRATE the arrival of a host of new kids glasses at Specsavers, the Coleraine Specsavers store children are being asked to take part in a superhero colouring competition.
The competition will run from Monday, October 15 to Wednesday, October 31 and is open to all children currently attending primary school.
The Coleraine store wants lots of children to enter the competition, where they will be asked to draw their ‘perfect superhero’ to be in with the chance of winning a £50 Argos voucher.
Store director, Judith Ball says: ‘We are really looking forward to seeing the local children use their imagination and come up with some really fun ideas for the competition.
“We also hope it will help highlight to parents the importance of keeping a close eye on their children’s eyesight, as the earlier common childhood vision problems are discovered the better the chance of correcting them. We would recommend that children have their first eye examination at around three years old or as soon as they can match pictures or point at things.
Good eyesight is essential for a young child’s development, as uncorrected vision problems can often be mistaken for learning difficulties. Around 80% of everything a child learns is through their sight, so even a minor problem with their vision can result in setbacks at school.
All Specsavers glasses for those under 16 come fitted with SuperTough lenses as standard. Made from Trivex, the lenses are so strong that Specsavers guarantees they will never break, crack or chip.
To enter the competition, please leave your ‘perfect superhero’ drawing in to the Coleraine Specsavers store. All entries must include your name, school name, class and contact telephone number.
Specsavers is located on Kingsgate Street, Coleraine, and is open seven days a week: Mon – Wed, Fri - Sat from 9am – 5:30pm, Thursday 9am – 8pm, and Sunday 1pm- 5pm. Please phone 028 7032 6346 to make an appointment for frame styling and for all your eyecare needs.
