IT’S the news clubbers have been waiting for!

This week The Coleraine Times can EXCLUSIVELY reveal details of the Nero’s Reunion Night.

Facebook has been alight with comments since organisers set up a page dedicated to one of the Triangle’s best loved night spots.

The date for your diary is Friday, June 28 - and the venue is Club Aura at The Anchor Bar complex. And it’s expected to be a sell out!

Organiser and former Nero’s resident DJ Brian McKay told The Times: “Different venues were discussed, but we felt that keeping Nero’s in Portstewart was key.

“The journey to Portstewart for many will bring back good memories.”

“Since the Neros Reunion Facebook page went live last month we’ve been getting enquiries from all over the Province.”

Brian revealed that the idea actually came from a few former staff members, and since the launch on Facebook over 2,300 people have joined the page.

Party goers have already been suggesting tunes for the big night - popular choices include Sash!, Alice Deejay and Rui de Silva - but as Brian tells there will be something for everyone.

“The main room will be ‘Heavenly’ themed with music from 1998 to 2002, downstairs will be the older stuff from 1992 to around 1997. We’re aiming to cater for all former Neros patrons.”

Dj’s who will be behind the decks include Brian McKay, Remo, John Wright, DJ Scratch plus many more.

The organisers have also got their hands on some old video footage from back in the day and they will be streaming it live on big screens on the night.

“We really have put a lot of thought into this,” admitted Brian.

“Our aim is provide revellers with a night that they will remember and talk about for years to come.”

Tickets go on sale this Friday (8th March) from The Anchor Complex, or online at priced at £10 plus booking fee.

Some of the proceeds from the reunion will be donated to charity - we’ll bring you more details on this nearer the time.

So dig out your old Nero’s gear and prepare yourself for a night of memories. If you haven’t already -check out for further details on the big event.
