REGIONAL Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced the start of a £382,000 major resurfacing scheme at Ballybogey Road, Coleraine.
Work has commenced on the first scheme near the Priestland Road junction and is due to begin on 14 October on the second scheme near the Royal Court Hotel.
The Minister said: “This scheme will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of the carriageway on part of this important road running from Ballymoney through to the A2 Dunluce Road coastal route near Portrush.”
To facilitate the works, it will be necessary to operate road closures during the working day Monday to Friday.
To help minimise any inconvenience to the travelling public and local businesses, road closures will run concurrently to ensure that only one closure is in operation at any time.
Diversion routes will be sign posted and access will be maintained for residents and businesses.
The major works scheme is expected to be substantially completed by this Friday.
