The Royal British Legion Group 10 held their Poppy Drop ceremony at north coast event. The Poppy Drop was performed by the Huey helicopter which was at the show. Members of the British Legion along with Joan Christie, Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for the County of Antrim took part in the ceremony on the East Strand beach.

The overall event was organised by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and it was expected that over 100,000 spectators would view the airshow on Portrush's eastern shoreline. The airshow gave two days of flying displays by some of the world's most famous aviation attractions.
