DUP councillor Tracy Craig has told The Times that she was ‘disgusted’ to learn that an ambulance crew were attacked whilst responding to a call in Coleraine on Tuesday night.

Tracy, who took James McClure’s seat in Coleraine Borough Council, said: “I find it disgusting that people in their work have been treated in this manner.

The windscreen of the ambulance was damaged during the incident. One man was taken to hospital with stab wounds during the incident. Two men were arrested at the time.

Councillor Craig said: “It is incidents like this that drain resources from those in need.

“The ambulance service is precious, we do not need people damaging precious property.”
