THE local branch of Marie Curie Cancer Care is seeking new volunteers from Ballymoney and Coleraine.

Coleraine branch chairperson Barbara Dempsey has put out a call for assistance from new members whether they have one hour to spend on a street collection or want to join the committee and help organise findraising events.

“£20 pays for just one hour of Marie Cure nursing,” explained Barbara.

“That’s why fundraising is so vital. You can give as little time as you want or as much.

“We always need new indeas for fundraising and they will come from new members with new enthusiasm.”

Fundraising groups organise a range of activities from local collections to tea parties and quizzes. They represent the charity locally by encouraging and suporting local fundraising.

Anyone who wants an informal chat about joining is asked to ring Barbara on (028) 7083 3446 or Anne on (028) 70352101.
