A party of 23 adults from Coleraine’s twin town of La Roche-sur-Yon visited the borough for one week, staying with host families and friends of the Twinning Association.
This was the third group of French visitors this year, following on from the highly successful visit of 22 agricultural students and staff in March and a party of golfers who took part in the Causeway Coast Golf Tournament at the end of May.
The party of adults had a historical walking tour of Coleraine and visited many tourist sites in the Coleraine area and the Titanic Exhibition in Belfast
The trip ncluded a reception in the Council Buildings with the mayor, councillor David Harding. This was particularly interesting and encouraging ascouncillor Harding explained his desire to visit La Roche early in 2014 and to explore the possibilities of a commercial delegation visit to our partner town.
The visit concluded with a farewell dinner in Portstewart Golf Club at which there was some competition in the singing between the locals and their guests.
