Police in Coleraine are investigating an assault on a 17-year-old boy by five others in the Society Street area of Coleraine on Friday afternoon.
Chief Inspector Mark McClarence said the attackers were around the same age as the injured party, and has appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
He said: “The assault is thought to have happened when the five others, thought to be around the same age, attacked him. “The injured boy was taken to hospital for treatment to facial injuries but his injuries are not life threatening.
“I would appeal for anyone who was in the area at around 3:30pm on Friday 19 June and saw the assault to contact police in Coleraine on the non-emergency number 101.”
