A thrilled couple from Portstewart last week celebrated a very special new arrival - born on the same day as the future King of England.
Little Lola Wilkinson was born at Causeway Hospital at 1.09am last Monday - the same day as Prince George Alexander Louis - Prince William and Duchess Kate’s first child.
Lovely Lola weighed in at 9lbs 40z.
She is the daughter of Katherine and Paul Wilkinson.
Baby Lola has the distinction of being the only local baby born on the same day as Prince George.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Coleraine, Cllr David Harding, is to write to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to congratulate them on the birth of their son, George Alexander Louis.
“On behalf of council I will be writing to them to congratulate them on the birth of their son,” said Cllr Harding told councillors at Cloonavin Tuesday before the Royal baby’s name was confirmed by his parents.
He added: “I don’t know what they plan to call it but I think King David has a nice ring to it!”
George Robinson MLA said: “For any family it is a special time when a new baby arrives, but when that baby is destined to be king of their country is undoubtedly an historic moment in the life of the nation as well as the family.
“It is good to hear that the Duchess and Prince George are doing well and I send the family every good wish at this exciting time for them”, he added.
