THE annual Women’s World Day of Prayer which unites women in 190 countries took place on Friday, March 1.
This year the afternoon service was held in Rothesay Court and the evening service was in Killowen Parish Church.
Speaker at both services was Rev Diane Matchett, rector of Castlerock and Articlave Church of Ireland.
Both services were led by Mrs Valerie Woodrow of Killowen Parish Church.
Ladies from various churches took part in both services.
The theme for the service was ‘I was a stranger and you welcomed me’ written by Christan women in France.
Special thanks to Rev Diane Matchett.
Offerings from both services amounted to £671. This will go to support the annual prayer event and other Christian projects around the world.
Next year’s service will be held in St John’s, Coleraine and will be written by the Christian women of Egypt.
