The course was developed at Stanford University in the United States but has been tailored specifically for cancer patients by Macmillan Cancer Support. Each weekly session lasts about 2 ½ hours with a break for refreshments and an informal chat.
Elvira Lowe and Lesley Flack who will be tutoring on the course were both participants on the course, say: “New Perspectives is an invaluable course that encourages people like ourselves to make practical and positive steps to move forward. Bringing cancer patients together who have gone through a similar experience is a very positive and powerful way of helping them to regain their confidence and take control of their lives.”
