Translink is advising residents living near University Rail Halt, Coleraine, that essential night maintenance work will be taking place at the halt from November 23 – 30.
Translink Project Manager Anthony Stove says the halt’s pedestrian footbridge steps require resurfacing and therefore the footbridge will need to close to get the work completed quickly and safely:
“To minimise overall disruption we plan to complete the project during night-time hours (11.30pm – 5.30am) over the course of the week but will ensure the bridge is open while trains are operational.
“The work will not require heavy machinery - just small hand held tools - which will keep noise levels to a minimum. Also, some flood-lighting will be used but directed at the work site to minimise overspill.
“Residents living close to the rail halt will be mail dropped shortly to advise them about the work. We would ask for everyone’s support while we work hard to improve this local rail facility and apologise for any inconvenience caused,” said Anthony.
