North coast neighbourhood police arrested a 61-year-old man on suspicion of theft and handling stolen goods and a 46-year-old woman on suspicion of theft on Monday night.
The man was arrested in the Coleraine Ring Road area, and the woman was arrested during the search of a caravan in Portrush.
Inspector Tony Boyce said: “The arrests came as a result of a proactive operation targeting suspected shoplifters.
“As we made the arrests we recovered a substantial amount of goods, believed to have been stolen from retailers across the North West.
“The two people have been released on police bail as the investigation continues.”
