DUP MLA Adrian McQuillan has said that those involved in an overnight burglary in Garvagh are ‘cowards’.
The home of an elderly couple, the man is in his nineties and the woman is in her seventies, was ransacked as four masked men entered their Boleran Road property.
MLA Adrian McQuillan has condemned the incident and described those involved as ‘cowards’.
He said: “ I was really shocked to hear about this incident.
“Those involved can only be described as cowards.
“I have asked police to step up patrols in rural areas, as I have no doubt that this will cause shock waves through rural communities, and particularly elderly people.
“I know that resources are tight for the police, but they must not forget about the vulnerable people in our rural areas,” said the MLA.
