You might know her as the kind, good-hearted and strong-willed Stark matriarch Catelyn in hit HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones, but Michelle Fairley is going over to the dark side!

The Coleraine actress is set to play a villain in the revival of American thriller series 24: Live Another Day.

Michelle plays Margot Al-Harazi a widow of a British terrorist in the hit series which is headlining on Sky.

The role was previously filled by Judy Davis, before the Australian actress dropped out of filming, citing personal matters.

24: Live Another Day sees Kiefer Sutherland reprise his role as agent Jack Bauer, reuniting with former co-stars Kim Raver, William Devane and Mary Lynn Rajskub.

Michelle has kept herself busy by making guest appearances in the American drama Suits as well as Ralph Fiennes’ biopic The Invisible Woman, and Philomena, Stephen Frears’ Oscar-nominated film based on the novel of the same name.

24 originally ran for eight seasons between 2001 and 2010, earning multiple Emmy and Golden Globe Awards.
