Moores of Coleraine has announced that it is joining the Caring Caretaker in his bid to raise half a million for charity.
As part of the initiative, which forms part of the retailer’s 90 year anniversary celebrations, Moores will embark on a series of fundraising activities over the next eight months.
David Boyle MBE, also known as the Caring Caretaker, started raising money for local charities in 1998.
So far he has raised £483,000 of funds which has been used to support a wide range of charities and the disadvantaged both at home and abroad.
With Moores support, Davy is aiming to reach the half a million mark by Christmas 2016.
Commenting on the activity Neville Moore, Managing Director of Moores of Coleraine, said: “Moores is very proud to be associated with David Boyle, who during the past two decades has worked tirelessly to raise funds for a range of charities and has received royal recognition for his work.
“You can’t fail to be touched by his efforts. Moores has committed its full support to helping David raise the £17K needed to reach his goal. We believe our customers will respond generously to the range of fundraising activities we plan to coordinate during our 90th anniversary year.”
David is delighted to be nominated as the charity partner: “ I receive no government funding and rely entirely on the generosity of the general public and companies such as Moores to help me raise money for very worthwhile causes. I look forward to working with Moores throughout 2016 in its fundraising efforts.”
