Bann Valley Arts and Historical Society last night kicked off a series of events celebrating the history of Coleraine.
The project will focus on Mountsandel Fort and the Normans.
Activities will include costume making, creative writing, drama, history talks and will culminate in a children’s fun day with bouncy castles, archery, face-painting and cage soccer.
The series opened last night with a History of the Mount talk in the Bertie Peacock Centre in Killowen.
On Tuesday, August 19 a Costume Workshop will be held in the Maconachie Hall from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
A Drama Workshop will be held in the same venue on Thursday, August 21 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
The climax to the week is a themed Fun Day in Killowen Primary School on Saturday, August 23 from 1pm to 5pm.
Everyone will be made welcome at these events.
