BOTH Portrush lifeboat crews took part in an exercise with an Irish Coastguard Sikorsky helicopter.
They landed at the tennis courts at Ramore Head and brought Portrush to a standstill on Sunday, March 4. A
fter giving Portrush volunteer lifeboat crew a tour of the helicopter, they joined the two lifeboats for an exercise, winching three crew members off the all-weather Lifeboat and dropping them off again.
The sea was very choppy which added to the realism of the event and both crews learned a lot from the experience.
The exercise ended at 5pm when the helicopter took off to do a night exercise with Arranmore Lifeboat Crew.
