Portstewart WI President, Mrs Susan Lyons welcomed members to the December meeting and thanked everyone for coming out on such an awful night.

Good wishes were extended to Mrs Margaret Grange who was in hospital. Susan informed the meeting that Mrs Moira Kelly, a past member, who due to ill health had moved to Bangor to be near her daughter, had passed away.

Members stood as a mark of respect.

After business was attended to, Susan introduced Dale Harley who had come along to entertain members with many different musical items and amusing jokes. He soon had everyone in the party spirit with his lively tunes and members all joined in the sing song.

A delicious supper was provided and served by the committee and afterwards Dale rounded off his performance with two Christmas songs.

The Secretary, Alison Lamont proposed the vote of thanks and presented Dale with a gift.

The monthly competition for a ‘Christmas Tea Towel’ was won by Evelyn Murdock and the Christmas Cup for a ‘Small Winter Basket’ was won by Joan Wright.

Members participated in the Left/Right game and everyone went home with a present from Santa’s stocking.

The President wished everyone a happy Christmas and best wishes for 2015.
