The Women’s Institute is renowned for its delicious scones and jam.
However, it was a get-together with a difference at the February meeting of Exorna WI. Instead it was a “Pudding Night.”
Members had their taste buds tantalised by the expertise of guest presenter, Mrs. Eileen Richmond, of Macosquin WI, who displayed three of her home-baked specialities.
– Ann Morrell, Joyce Bradley and Mary McCahon – put on show their own home-baked delicacies.
Members and guests were welcomed by Exorna President, Mrs Ann Pollock, and the guest presenter was thanked by Mrs Jean Sherrard.
Prize-winners in the competition for the best pie-server were:- 1, Anne Hetherington; 2, Ann Campbell; and 3, Mary McCahon.
Birthday Girl was Mrs Gladys Warke.
The meeting concluded with members and guests eagerly tucking-in to the tasty puddings on display.
The meeting ended with the traditional singing of “A Countrywoman’s Song.”
