Young people from Kilrea have been presented with certificates of achievement by the Youth Empowerment and Resilience (YEAR) project.

YEAR is a Causeway Rural and Urban Network project funded by Big Lottery.

As part of the celebration of their achievements the young people organised an event in Kilrea Town Hall to showcase the range of work and activities they had participated in throughout the duration of this project. The event was attended by young people, parents and community representatives including MLA John Dallat and councillor Roisin Loftus.

“We felt the young people attending YEAR deserved recognition for all their contributions to their local community, and for their own personal achievements and dedication.

“Congratulations to all the young people and many thanks to all those who have assisted the YEAR Project in any way including Big Lottery, CRUN, Coleraine Borough Council, NEELB, PSNI, Youth Justice Agency, local community organisations, RDA Coleraine, Causeway Volunteer Centre,” says Michele Loughery, YEAR Project Coordinator.
