A gang of street robbers have stolen a football shirt off a man’s back in Portrush.

Police say “a number of men” attacked the 19-year-old victim in Eglinton Lane at 12.30am on Easter Sunday morning and stole the football top he was wearing.

The man sustained a cut to his lip during the incident.

A short time later it was reported that a number of males then attacked a 24-year-old man in Eglinton Street, stealing his mobile phone.

The man sustained swelling to the side of his face.

Police have since arrested two men aged 22 and 25. They have been interviewed and subsequently released on police bail pending further enquiries. Witnesses are asked to call the new non-emergency police number 101.
