CROSS Glebe residents have been making the most of the summer break thanks to a summer scheme for the children and a week long festival which was enjoyed by the whole community.
Organised by the Community Association, the festival was funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
The week long event was organised with the whole community in mind.
Organiers arranged events for the young people, their parents and their grandparents.
Events included a street party, a family bus trip to Belfast Zoo and a bus trip for the pensioners to Derry/Londonderry.
The children also took part in a summer sports week, which gave them the opportunity to try out new sports.
Whilst the ladies put their feet up and got pampered at a special ‘pamper night’.
The men weren’t left out, organisers arranged a fishing trip for them.
Primary School children in the area let their hair down at the summer scheme, which had a vast array of activities.
They also enjoyed a ‘wet and wild day’ which proved to be a huge hit.
The summer scheme concluded with a disco.
