WATCH: Have a nosey around the Portrush Grand Designs home
Did you miss the Grand Designs programme featuring a stunning Portrush home?
The Ballymagarry Project saw Ballymoney 2020 Architects partner Michael Howe take an old stone forge in Portrush and turn it into a spectacular modern family home.
Michael, who now lives in the house with wife Michelle and their children Rudi, three, and seven-month-old Anna, said he fell in love with the view from the house.
“The site on which our home is located is one of the most picturesque on the North Coast. I fell in love with the views a long time ago but as it’s an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, I knew that planning permission could be a challenge,” said Michael.
Over the past three years, Kevin McCloud and the team from Grand Designs have followed the building’s progress, visiting the site multiple times.
