Translink is advising passengers that there will be five weekend line closures between Coleraine and Londonderry in October and November 2015, as part of the major engineering project to complete re-signalling works on the line.
The closure dates will be October 3rd and 4th; 10th and 11th; 17th abd 18th; 24th and 25th and November 7th & 8th 2015. The line will remain open on Halloween weekend.
Two bus substitution services will operate between Coleraine and Derry~Londonderry (direct) and Coleraine and Bellarena, serving Castlerock.
Passenger information will be displayed at all stations.
This work will secure the long term future and sustainability of this important rail corridor and when completed it will mean a more resilient rail service to and from Derry~Londonderry including the potential for more frequent and faster journeys.
Works are due to be largely completed by late 2016.
We would remind road users and anyone using user worked crossings to remain vigilant as level crossing barriers will be in use and there will be trains operating both day and night.
Passengers wishing to travel on these weekends should refer to our website, journey planner, tweet us on @Translink_NI or call the contact centre on 0289066630
