Fresh start for striker
New signing Jordan Allan is hoping his loan move can be beneficial both for himself and for the Bannsiders.
The Scottish striker joined the Showgrounds outfit from Derry City before the transfer window last week.
His opportunities at the Brandywell have been limited in recent months.
But the 21-year-old believes the move to the Ballycastle Road will pay dividends for both.
“From my point of view joining Coleraine is a great opportunity for me to find my feet again,” said the Glaswegian, who made his debut on Saturday.
“I’ve not played as much as I had hoped for Derry, through no fault of my own, it was just the circumstances of the clubs position in the league, but that’s football.
“But as I say I feel coming here is a great way to help me regain my confidence and start to hopefully get a run of games.”
Allan watched on from the stands as Coleraine dismantled Glentoran last week, and he couldn’t fail to be impressed with what he saw.
“I came to the game last Friday and really enjoyed the atmosphere,” he said.
“The lads looked sharp as well so I don’t expect to walk into the team. I’m prepared to fight for my place.
“We played Coleraine in a pre-season friendly back in January at The Showgrounds.
“As I said before I really like the closeness of the stands and pitch.”
Allan has only signed on until January by said he would consider his options depending on how things go.
“If I’m enjoying myself and the team are happy to keep me then I would definitely consider staying, but we’ll see how it goes,” he said.
