David McDaid praised the team spirit shown by his team-mates after they put Cliftonville to the sword.
The striker, who scored the third goal from the spot, said it help spur them onespecially after the dismissal of Michael Hegarty.
“The mood is very good, everyone is playing well and working hard for each other and you can see we’re a team,” he told Times Sport.
“When you go down to 10 men against the league champions and you get the win it proves everything.
“After we lost Hegsy at 1-0 it was backs against the walL stuff, but fortunately we were able to score another three goals which won us the match.
“The sending off changed the game but as I say we kicked on from there.
“Cliftonville fought back late on but as I say thankfully we held on as I don’t think any of us wanted extra time especially on that pitch.
“It’s a great win for us, Cliftonville are a fantastic team, but we played very well tonight and thankfully we are through to the next round,” added McDaid.
