After the first Alliance meeting was cancelled because of the weather the 92 participating members enjoyed a fine day at Portstewart and many compliments were given to the condition of the course.

Geoff Brown fended off the strong field to win the day with 40 points. Countback pushed Desi Wreath into second place with the second 40 points of the day; what retirement does for you! Portrush’s Matt McAllister was third by himself scoring 39 points to do so while Ian Bennett and John Ferris, both Castlerock, took fourth and fifth with 38 each. Other voucher winners were Des Giffin, S MCarron Allan Bell, and Eamon Cassley, all on 37, with JA Doherty and Danny Alexander completing the winners on 36 each.

A new rule means that the top three at each meeting will lose a shot from their handicap and fourth to twelfth will lose half a shot.

At the AGM afterwards Jim O’Rorke (Castlerock) took over from Kenny Gault (RPGC) as Captain for the forthcoming year.
