Flights on for treble

Sperrin Flights took another step closer to lifting the League Tiitle this week with another excellent team performance against a tricky Hecklers team while fellow challengers Villa Swifts all but ended their hopes of lifting the title after they were held to a draw against Social Club.

Berthas are now the nearest challengers to the Flights after a solid win over Third Tree but that will all be insignificant if Sperrin Flights win their next league game against Third Tree in two weeks time and with two cup semi-finals coming up it could be a clean sweep this year for the League leaders.

Once again there were some brilliant darts this week with a total of seven 180s hit including two from Stephen Pinkerton (Sperrin Flights) other maximums were hit by: Pearse McGarry (Villa), Paul Montgomery, Gary McCafferty (Kellys Inn), Mervyn Greer (Scotch A) and Gerard Dallas (Villa Swifts) with his seventh of the season.

Highest Checkout this week was a very good 117 by William McKendry (Villa Swifts) while Stephen McAfee (Hecklers) had an also very good 108 checkout.

This coming week will be the start of the League Pairs played in Berthas Bar, Castlerock. The format for the early rounds will be best 3 x 701, players should be at the venue no later than 8:45pm for a 9pm start. For the full draw go to
