Eight handicapper Jack Allen rattled off a strong 36 points in very poor conditions to win Castlerock’s Jubilee Trophy.
In an eventful outward nine Jack had two blanks and a birdy three at the par four “Burn” on his way to a halfway tally of 17 points. The long eleventh gave up his final birdy of the round before another no score appeared at the difficult twelfth. Jack dropped just one shot to par from there in to help himself to 19 points back and 40 overall. That strong finish helped in the tie break as Glen Watt’s back nine score was 18. Glen was eased into second place but played very well on his way to his 36 points.
