All of the locals will also play in the Individuals tournaments.

“All of the players will be vying for a world title whether it be in the team competitions or the singles,” said Raymond Stockman.

It’s the first time Ireland has hosted the World Championships which will attract the best pool players from across the world.

Cueists from Australia, Spain, Northern Ireland and the Republic, England, Scotland, Wales, Malta, the Netherlands, Cyprus, France, Gibraltar, Norway, Morocco, Uganda and South Africa will take part.

Ballymoney’s Tommy Morrow will hope to go well in the Men’s Singles after he won the inaugural NIPA Grand Prix title in devastating fashion at the Regal Pool Club, Portadown, last month.

Tommy blitzed Stephen Johnston 7-1 in the final and is sure to be a key figure for Team NI.
