Congratulations to Lorcan McMullen, a Year 11 pupil at Dominican College who has just received the news that he has been selected for the Derry GAA U15 Development Squad.

Lorcan attended he county trials at the start of this year and was delighted to hear that he is only one of fifty players selected for the two county squads.

Lorcan, a member of the Eoghan Rua squad, captained the highly successful Dominican team which won the 2016 Vocational schools’ Blitz and is a current member of the Dominican U16 Gaelic team who are keen to build on last year’s success.

Mr Richard Carey, PE teacher and a member of the Eoghan Rua senior squad himself, praised Lorcan’s attitude and talents.

“As a coach here in Dominican and in my local club I have been always been highly impressed by Lorcan’s dedication and commitment to his local club and his school teams and I am sure he will go on to be an important player at a club level,” he said.

“The selection for the county squad will allow Lorcan to develop his talents at a county level and I have no doubt that he could go on to represent his county at the highest levels. We wish him every future success and are proud of his selection for the county squad”

Well done Lorcan from everyone at Dominican who look forward to hearing of your future success.
