NI Live Vision’s ‘White Collar Boxing’ Round Three was formally launched to the press at Atlantis Hotel, Portrush at the start of April.

Representatives from Macmillan Cancer Support took the opportunity to meet the prospective boxers and explain the role of Macmillan Cancer in local communities.

Two of the boxing trainers were also present to give the boxers an insight into what boxing training entailed and to offer encouragement and support for the coming weeks of training.

Christine Hayes from Macmillan felt that the event had a very positive atmosphere. Having already raised over £18,000.00 for NI Children’s Cancer Fund and £18,000.00 for Mencap, the pressure is on to exceed the £50,000 target.

With yet another group of highly motivated trainees and trainers on board, breaking this barrier would seem a realistic prospect.

Fight Night is Friday 8 June at the usual north coast venue, Kellys, Portrush, so get your tickets early so that you can join BBC1’s ‘Apprentice’ Jim Eastwood for a knock-out evening of ‘fun-draising’!
