ROWING: Chambers through to Olympic semi final
Richard Chambers has joined fellow Coleraine rowers Alan Campbell and Peter Chambers in progressing to the latter stages of the competition at the Olympic Games in Rio.
Chambers, who won silver in London four years, ago, was forced to wait until today to compete after high winds meant that Sunday’s Olympic rowing events were postponed at the Lagoa Stadium.
The Bann Rowing Club member didn’t let that put him off though when he and lightweight pairs partner Will Fletcher took to the water on Monday afternoon.
They produced a good performance to progress to Wednesday’s semi finals.
