Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council is inviting applications for the Young Artist of the Year Award 2016.

This award, now in its ninth year, takes the form of a financial award of up to £1,000, to one individual young local artist aged 16-25, to support arts projects, residencies or approved study, over and above full time second or third level education.

The award may also cover the purchase of specialised equipment or materials, or to cover travel and attendance at arts events outside of Northern Ireland.All art forms are eligible and past recipients have included a dancer, jewellery designer, and sculptor.

The deadline is Friday February 26 at 4pm.
