Waveney Road - police arrest man and woman

A 31 year old female and a 28 year old male have been arrested following an incident at the Waveney Road area, Ballymena last night (Friday 9th May).

At around 11:55pm, it was reported that a young girl was walking unaccompanied in the area.

A short time afterwards, a female approached police and is believed to have assaulted two police officers.

The female was arrested for assault of police and resisting police.

The male was arrested shortly after 1:40am on suspicion of breach of bail and other offences

Both are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
