Kearney: Top six the priority now

IT is back to league action for Coleraine this Saturday after a momentous week when they recorded excellent wins in both the Irish and Setanta Cup.

The Bannsiders head back to Ballymena Showgrounds to take on the Sky Blues with boss Oran Kearney determined to keep on the push to secure a top six finish.

“We want to get top six nailed down as soon as possible,” he said.

“We’ve had two great results on the bounce and that has to be the catalyst for us now.

“There has been questions asked about us over the last few weeks, but when you produce a performance like that against Shamrock Rovers you don’t need to answer to anyone.

“After the Ballinamallard defeat I talked about wanting to put my name on our product and how I couldn’t with that performance, but what they produced against Shamrock Rovers is what I’m all about.

“I’m so proud with that. Performances like that don’t go unnoticed it shows to me that players are committed to the cause.

“Guys like Joel Bradley and Paul Owens, who hasn’t played in six weeks and he comes in and performs like that it was superb.

“And big Shane (Jennings) too, he has had a bit of an up and down season, but he played with such maturity on Monday night.”
