Anniversary celebrations for BARK

‘Another day, another dollar’ - is a saying often used, but for the staff at a local animal centre the catch line should be ‘another day another life saved’.

Benvardin Animal Rescue Kennels, more commonly known as BARK was founded back in 2010 by Louise Neill, a former employee of the USPCA.

And with more than 15 years experience caring and rehoming animals, it is clear how popular Benvardin is within the local community.

Louise decided to take the bull by the horns and set up her own charity back in 2010 specifically to help dogs.

This August BARK celebrates it’s fourth birthday having re homed thousands of dogs, and more recently cats.

BARK survives without any funding from other bodies - they have managed to survive thanks to the support of the general public.

To mark their fourth anniversary, BARK will be hosting a family fun day on Saturday, August 2 from 2pm.

All the proceeds from the day will go to the charity, and there’s something for everyone - including the four legged friends.

Activities include a dog show, barbecue, fun fair, cake stalls, tombola, raffle and face painters.

Come along and join the fun from 2pm.
