Charity boxing night

It will be held in the Bay Hall Social club on Saturday at 8:30pm in aid of the Niall Mellon Township Trust.

The event has been organised by local men Declan McAlinden and Jim O’Hagan who are heading out to the Township of Witsand near Cape Town in November to take part in a building blitz which aims to provide homes for some of the most impoverished people in South Africa .

Both men would like to thank the numerous people who have helped with the preperations for the fight night, espically the boxers and their trainers and, of course, the many sponsors who have been very generous with their support.

There will be around ten bouts on the night featuring a host of local fighters with varying abilities from the novice fighter to the seasoned veterans matched off according to ability.

This will be followed by music from DJ Kevo and is sure to provide a great night’s entertainment as local rivalry comes to the fore.
