Widely regarded as one of cinema’s masterpieces, this 1958 psychological thriller stars James Stewart as weary detective turned private investigator John ‘Scottie’ Ferguson who is hired to follow the wife of a wealthy acquaintance. Kim Novak plays the haunted Madeleine in what must be her most famous role.

Not only does the film boast a cast of supreme acting calibre, the film displays stunning cinematography, highlighting the landscape of San Francisco to great effect to emphasise the story’s suspense.

It was hailed by director Martin Scorsese as one of the best films ever made, and named as one of the greatest films ever by Empire Magazine.
