Ronnie Greer returns to Ballymoney Town Hall

Blues guitar legend Ronnie Greer will be performing on Wednesday 28 January with his powerhouse band, featuring some of the country’s leading musicians.

Ronnie’s distinctive guitar style, melding Chicago blues style licks with be bop jazz lines, has been critically acclaimed as world class.

His band, comprising Anthony Toner, guitar and vocals, John McCullough, keyboards, Alan Hunter, bass guitar, and Colm Fitzpatrick, drums, operate on a level which has to be heard to be appreciated.

Joining the band on this gig as special guest is the brilliant singer/songwriter Ken Haddock. Ken’s incredible vocal prowess never fails to leave audiences spellbound with his ability to stamp his unique style and quality on any song he chooses to sing. Without question, one of our very finest talents.

Expect a night of blues, roots, soul and a little jazz based music, played with style and conviction by the best in the business.

Ballymoney Borough Arts Committee’s new series of local history talks by popular historian S Alex Blair begins on Wednesday 21 January with the first of two talks looking at Rural Life in North Antrim. The focus of this evening’s talk is Customs and Traditions.

Country folk intuitively know how to handle situations as they occur for they saw their parents and grandparents “doing it that way”. That is really what customs and traditions are all about and in this talk Mr Blair will discuss the various customs and traditions associated with the cycle of life and the events of the year as they have unfolded in the lives of the people of North Antrim down the generations.

All talks take place at 8pm in Ballymoney Town Hall. £2 includes refreshments.
