Top 50 treat for Mauds

A Carrickfergus food company has been listed among the top 50 tastiest in Britain by the Guild of Fine Food.

The guild, organiser of the annual UK Great Taste Awards, named Mauds Ice Cream, which is based at Trooperslane industrial estate, for its strawberry and cream ice cream.

The Top 50 Foods were announced by the influential body ahead of the final judging in this year’s awards which will be held in London on Monday.

The guild, at the start of the Great Taste process, issues gold stars – 1,2,3 - depending on quality of taste and originality.

Three star winners are judged for the Top 50 Foods and those listed are then in the running for the Supreme Champion Award.
