A total of 24 local volunteer groups are to receive grants, ranging from £250 to £3,000, to support their delivery of a Covid-19 response in their local communities

The emergency grant programme for the community and voluntary sector was launched at the beginning of April to support a range of activities from deliveries to the vulnerable to the production of local PPE, and is additional to the £400K package of measures already announced by the Council.

“The level of community and voluntary support in Mid Ulster is second to none, so ensuring that the work of these groups, so vital to meet the needs of some of our most vulnerable people, is sustained and sustainable is a key element of the Council’s overall package of support.

“I congratulate all the groups, and thank them all most sincerely, for their on-going dedication and their unfailing community spirit”.

The Covid-19 Emergency Fund is a rolling programme and applications can be made at any time. Visit www.midulstercouncil.org/emergencyfundcovid19 for further information and to apply.
